Our company

Our company is a small independent company which targets small niche markets within the United Kingdom.

Like the company Film 4 which I have previously researched ,Steel will produce and distribute all our own films but perhaps not for international releases.We will focus on genres such as thriller,drama,romance and comedy because the quality of genres such as action and sci-fi  might be compromised if they were made with a small budget.

Production

We will focus on realistic films as this means our company will be able to have smaller production budgets because we will not need specialist people or equipment.We will have less known actors and actresses to play the roles in our films which will also help with budget .We would film about 2 films a year depending on there complexity.The average budget for each one of our films would be £850,000 per film.

Distribution

We would advertise our films using social media site such as Facebook and twitter which would be good due to our small budget costs and we could show small promos and publish the trailer to the film on the films YouTube account.We could also have posters around the UK and film posters in small/independent cinemas to get hype about our films and could even be shown there.We could also generate hype by getting writers to review our film and publish the review.We will not be a major film company due to us aiming our products at niche markets so our films are not likely to be in cinemas but they would be at film festivals.For the public to view our products DVDs of our film could be brought and we would have our films on the most popular streaming site (for example Netflix).
