Shutter Island-(opening 1 minute)
The order of credits is the director, the producers, screenplay by,based on the novel, director of photography, key male actors, edited by,music by then the title of the film. The timings for this film is roughly 3 seconds per person in the credits and 4 seconds for the title which features at the end of the credits.
The colour of the font is a grey and white colour which has a big contrast to it's background. We might associate this colour with emptiness, boring and depression which could link to the picture below because whoevers point of view we're looking from they are trapped so might be depressed
Mise en Scene- Low key lighting is used in the opening credits which makes the audience feel tense. Use of colour also manipulates how we see things-There is also a use of red font which makes the audience feel scared because a connotation of red is blood which links to death. But later the writing changes to a white font which has the connotation of purity and possibly angels and heaven which makes the audience feel more anxious as to what might happen to this character. The costume of the actors in part of the clip are wearing a dark police officer uniform, this suggests where the person is about to enter is a dangerous place because the place needs security.Props in the form of fire is used in part of the clip which has connotations of hell/devil or danger.

Camera-A point of view shot is used when the person is entering the place, this make the audience feel anxious for that character because we fear that they might be in danger. There is an part of a arc shot around the chair in the clip which then goes past an item then a jump cut occurs so we never see who's in the chair, this makes the audience feel worried and intrigued about who this person is.There is a close up of a gun and the mans hands which makes the audience worried because it makes the audience wonder if there has been a crime or does someone need it because they are vulnerable.
Editing-There are lots of jump cuts between a small part of a scene to a blank black screen, this gives the audience time to think about what they just saw and makes the audience nervous because it makes the audience question what they saw and question whether there is a link between all the jump cuts they have seen. There is also a use of a fade effect which might implies it a peaceful and normal environment with nothing abnormal happening. There is also use of a superimposition in this clip of the prison cell and a wire fence which suggests the idea that the people in here are trapped and enclosed around this sort of environment all the time. There is also a fast cutting rhythm which is shown with the help of jump cuts which makes the audience feel tense because of the fast pace which suggests there is action going on.Sound-The non-diegetic music throughout the clip gets gradually louder between every small piece of action then it gets quieter again which makes the audience feel tense.
